There is a planned tribute concert for the late Zahara by Le's Occasions, but the family has allegedly distanced itself from it. The Mkutukana family has criticised the organisers for sidelining them, and has reportedly threatened to protest against this decision.
It is said that the concert involves big stakeholders, but the family of the late Loliwe hitmaker know nothing about it. Big names have already been booked for 13 December at the Kuhle Lodge and Wedding Resort in Mooiplaats, reported Sunday World.
More on Zahara's tribute show
Defending themselves, the company told the news publication that the concert is independent and has no affiliation with the Mkutukanas. The late star's record label had also not approved this, nor had her estate.
The show aims to reportedly unite African guitarists who saw Zahara as an inspiration. However, this goes against the family's wishes.
Performers of the day include Sino Msolo, Nathi, Le Mpendulo, The Muffinz and many others.
