A video of podcast personality Sfiso appearing heavily intoxicated during a branded Music Pulse segment has set social media alight, with fans questioning whether his behaviour crosses a professional line.
The footage, shot in an indoor studio adorned with a collage of musician photos, shows Sfiso speaking with visible frustration and animated gestures as he defends South African artists. In the clip, he criticises what he describes as a lack of recognition for local acts, naming DJ Tira, Mark Hazy, and Kespan University among those he feels are being overlooked. He also referenced global star Tyla's comments about having no blueprint to follow, seemingly taking issue with how she positioned herself relative to SA artists.
Sfiso's behaviour under the spotlight
While the substance of his argument drew some attention, it was his noticeably slurred delivery that got people talking. Fans on X pointed out that this was not an isolated incident, with one user noting it had happened across back-to-back episodes. X user @NtxndoZAR wrote:

"Something must be done; Sfiso got hammered on two consecutive episodes. He can't even get a point across in a professional intellectual manner."
However, not everyone was alarmed. Several users were quick to draw a distinction between arriving drunk and getting drunk on the job, with the latter being far more acceptable in a space that openly embraces alcohol.

Mzansi call Sifiso to be dealt with
With the Music Pulse brand openly tied to alcohol culture, whether Sfiso faces any professional consequences remains to be seen. For now, the debate rages on, split between those who want accountability and those who say the outrage is entirely misplaced.

P4pfweb3 pushed back harder against the outrage:
"At your Big age, you really believe she got fired from a channel that promotes alcohol, owns multiple alcohol brands, hosts, drinks, and gets drunk during the show, and they're going to fire someone for coming to work drunk? While everyone else is drinking on camera?"
Some users were more light-hearted about the whole situation.
Saybhuti quipped:
"They all drink before and during work. That podcast network is a shebeen."
LNxumalo85013 took a different stance entirely, writing:
"They must give him more. I like this drunk Sfiso ukhuluma konke okusesi fubeni."
Lucky_dybala offered a measured take:
"No, he got drunk there in the studio. So I don't think they will fire him."
