During an appearance on E! Daily Pop, Blige was asked whether she ever worried that she would wake up one day and regret not becoming a mother. At the time, she said she was not there yet and explained that she enjoyed being able to get up, travel and do what she wanted. In the video posted by X user Msriricole, she also pointed to her nieces and nephews as part of her close family circle.

However, as the years passed, Blige's perspective appears to have shifted. Seeing the relationship between parents and their children made her reconsider the decision she had made when she was younger. Her latest reflection is therefore significant because she is no longer simply saying she is comfortable with her choice. She is acknowledging that, with age and perspective, she now wishes she had experienced motherhood herself.

"Not what she said… She didn't say she regrets not having them. Not everyone wants kids, and that's ok… There's always the 'what if' though…. But ultimately, in the times we are living in … it's the best choice."

HPotoure put it plainly:

"The rage bait continues because she did not say that."

KaloneJo offered a more measured take:

"She more than likely made the right decision. It may seem like she's missing out on something because she's never had them, but think about all the women who had kids and regretted it and wish they hadn't."
