Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa is not shy about her price tags. The actress and fashion designer gave fans a candid look at her latest offering when fashion content creator Neo Ndemande visited the Essie Apparel store in Rosebank, Johannesburg, on 3 September 2026, asking all the questions shoppers had been waiting for.
The Essie Hob Bag Capsule, which made its official debut in July, is a collection of statement pieces built from sheep wool and cowhide leather. Each bag features a soft, fuzzy fleece body offset by contrasting brown leather trim, and the range spans elegant clutches through to roomy tote bags. Enhle's personal pick from the line is the Essie Hob horizontal shearling-style bowling bag, which she described as ideal for travel.

How much do the bags cost?
When Ndemande pressed Enhle on pricing, the designer did not dance around the question.
"These bags are very attainable; however, obviously because of the quality of the bag, it's a bit more high-end," she explained before confirming that pieces start from R15,000 upwards. However, she also revealed that she had pieces that retail for as little as R1,500.
The craftsmanship behind the label has deep roots. Back in 2018, Essie Apparel was part of the creative team that designed the iconic green ensemble Beyoncé wore during her performances at the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 event, held in South Africa - a moment that cemented the brand's profile on a world stage.
