Mzansi is talking after a post on X revealed that beloved South African actor Wiseman Mncube is not just a familiar face on screen but also a practising spiritual healer. The news caught many fans off guard, though others say they have known about this side of him for years.

Mncube has built a solid acting career through roles on popular productions including Uzalo, Emzini, and The Wife. Behind the scenes, however, he has reportedly been walking a spiritual path for quite some time, regularly praying in waterfalls and on mountains long before the public took notice.

Wiseman Mncube's public prayer ceremony

The actor eventually brought his spiritual practice into the open by hosting a public prayer event called Umkhukeleko WaseMpophomeni at the Delta Park Randburg Waterfall in Johannesburg. Speaking to Daily Sun, Mncube explained that an overwhelming number of requests from fans pushed him to take the step. "Many people ask me to pray for them when I post my videos and pictures praying in the waterfalls and mountains," he said.

He added that the volume of those requests had simply grown too large to ignore, prompting him to create a space where people could gather and receive prayer together.

Mzansi reacts to the revelation

The post, shared on 29 September 2026, quickly drew thousands of responses from South Africans who had plenty to say about the actor's spiritual role. Reactions ranged from supportive to deeply sceptical.
