"It feels organically like the right time. It feels vulnerable, daunting and exciting. From its conception, I want Speak and Heal to be so real. I'm challenging myself. It can invite scrutiny. I feel that it's going to help me find my voice and have a stance."

Ngema also emphasised the importance of creatives building their own platforms, particularly in an entertainment industry where steady work is never guaranteed.
