Bontle Modiselle had absolutely no idea what was coming when she walked into the 5FM studios for what she thought was a straightforward interview on 5Drive. Fresh off her Masked Singer SA Season 3 win and a standout performance at Scorpion Kings Live, the dancer and entertainer was already riding high until the station pulled off a coordinated emotional ambush that left her in floods of happy tears.
The interview took a split-screen format, cutting between the studio host and a series of surprise pre-recorded voice messages from Bontle's closest circle, played in smaller boxes on screen. Her husband opened the tributes, holding nothing back.
"God is so good, and to Him we give all the glory, baby."
He added that witnessing her blessings "over and over and over again" was a gift to their little ones, their families, and the world. He promised to keep it short before he started crying on radio.

Bontle's children and friends join the surprise
The emotional segment did not stop there. Her children popped up next, with one of them hilariously revealing that they had figured out something was going on because Bontle kept leaving the house at the same time a certain show was playing. "I knew Mom was sporting," the child said, before adorably asking how she was managing to carry a trophy that weighed "200 pounds." Another voice from a friend rounded off the tribute, saying simply:
"I already knew you were going to win."
Bontle, clearly blindsided, laughed and cried in equal measure.
"Skabangas! All of you! All of you in cahoots! That's what we do it for, right? That's who we do it for. So that was everything."
In a self-aware comment on the 5FM Instagram post, Bontle herself wrote:
"And this is the last time I cry, ladies and gents, publicly. I'm done, I swear. 😂"

Bontle Modiselle was revealed as the winner of The Masked Singer South Africa Season 3 during the SABC 2 finale on Saturday, 26 September 2026.
The choreographer and dancer competed as Spotty, facing off against Mosquito and Gogga in the final rounds of the competition.
