The Masked Singer South Africa Season 3 crowned its champion on Saturday, 26 September 2026, and the big reveal left fans buzzing. Choreographer and dancer Bontle Modiselle was unmasked as Spotty, the winning contestant of the SABC 2 fan-favourite competition.

Spotty's road to the trophy

Spotty's journey to the Season 3 crown was anything but straightforward. In the finale, the canine-costumed contestant navigated two face-offs before the ultimate showdown. Chopsticks was the first to be eliminated, followed by Gogga, who narrowly missed out on the trophy. That left Spotty in a head-to-head battle with the formidable Mosquito, which Spotty ultimately won.

Modiselle is widely regarded as one of South Africa's most talented performers, having built a career spanning dance, choreography and television. Her stage presence as Spotty evidently won over both the judges and the show's dedicated detective panel.

Briefly News gained some insight into when she clocked that it was her dance partner, Robot Boii, behind Mosquito.

"I started suspecting him when he did that Eminem performance," she said with excitement. "I heard that vocal, and I was like, there's only one person in the industry that I know who knows how to manipulate themselves to sound as close to the original artist as possible, she added.

"And then we got to the final. Here we are together, and we're doing this final together. And that was fun. It was so good, so much fun. And I guess, someone's energy, especially someone that you're familiar with, it can really penetrate past the mask. And it's like, this is my boy. This is him. That was fun," she mentioned.

For Robot Boii, he mentioned that he also noted in the finals that it was Bontle when they danced together during the finals.

"I just knew," he said with excitement. "We were so in sync."

The other faces behind the masks

The Season 3 finale delivered more than one jaw-dropping reveal. When runner-up Mosquito was finally unmasked, the man behind the buzz turned out to be Robot Boii, the award-winning content creator, dancer, musician and television presenter who has amassed a huge following across Mzansi.

Chopsticks, the nimble contestant eliminated in the final round, was revealed to be Khanyi Mbau, the screen star and entertainer often dubbed Mzansi's "Queen of Bling." Gogga, whose powerful voice captivated audiences throughout the season, was unmasked as Afro-jazz legend Judith Sephuma.
