Masechaba Mposwa is heading back to our screens, and this time she is swapping hard news for something a little closer to her heart. The veteran broadcaster has been confirmed as the host of PEP Cuddle Some Corner, a brand-new family and parenting segment on SABC 2's flagship breakfast show, Morning Live.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, the seasoned media personality said the project stood out because it carries a sense of purpose that goes beyond simply being on television.

"I understand the beautiful chaos of parenting. I understand the questions, the fears, the laughter and the exhaustion," she said.
She also pointed to the reach of the public broadcaster as a compelling factor. The opportunity to connect with millions of South Africans through the SABC made the project feel significant in a way that went beyond a typical television gig.
The announcement arrives roughly six months after Masechaba stepped away from her role as a news anchor on Newzroom Africa's Weekend Report. Her move into family and lifestyle content marks a clear shift in direction, though she insists it is a natural evolution rather than a departure from who she is.
After more than two decades in broadcasting, Masechaba said she feels no pressure to stay within a narrow lane.
"The biggest evolution is that I am no longer interested in fitting myself into one particular box. After more than 20 years in broadcasting, I have earned the right to be multidimensional," she said.
While she has built a name for asking probing and emotionally charged questions in interviews, she believes the new show will reveal a softer, different side of her personality. Her philosophy on conversation has always centred on creating a safe space.
For Masechaba, the return to television is ultimately grounded in intention.
"I am not returning simply to occupy a television space. I am returning with purpose," she said.
