A young woman in Mzansi has taken the traditional staple to a whole new level by creating a chocolate version of pap, leaving social media buzzing over the unusual yet mouth-watering twist.
A video that she posted on Facebook on 1 August 2025 shows the woman, who goes by the handle Happy Ness sharing, how the idea came about. She explained that she had recently prepared sour pap for her boyfriend, which he enjoyed so much that he requested something sweeter for the next meal. Wanting to surprise him, she decided to experiment with chocolate flavours.

In the clip, she can be seen preparing a pot of pap, but instead of serving it the traditional way, she mixed in butter, sugar, and a generous scoop of Milo cream. The result was a smooth, rich, chocolate-infused pap.
