Why factory shops are booming across SA

According to The Go To Guy, discount and factory shops are experiencing massive growth in South Africa as economic pressures force consumers to hunt for bargains. With inflation driving up food prices by 8.2% and unemployment affecting over 32% of the workforce, families are prioritising essential purchases and seeking value wherever they can find it.

Recent surveys show that 99% of shoppers have changed their shopping habits to cope with rising costs, with 40% now shopping more frequently at discount stores. The rise of these outlets is also fuelled by surplus stock from manufacturers and international liquidation goods flooding the market, creating opportunities for retailers to offer branded items at heavily reduced prices.
