Dressed in a Springboks shirt and black shorts, the content creator who goes by the TikTok handle @yerik.jomei delivered a playful justification that quickly caught attention across social media, transforming a disappointing result into pure comedy.
In the viral clip that he posted on the video-sharing app on 6 September 2025, the supporter began by joking that the Springboks had deliberately allowed New Zealand to win because they no longer had space for more trophies.
“It’s too full,” he said, adding that the team had been winning “every trophy imaginable.” If victories continued, he claimed, the players would have no choice but to hide trophies “in weird places like under the mattress” while waiting for a new cabinet to arrive.

His second reason was what he hilariously described as “suffering from success.” He claimed that South Africa was currently experiencing an outbreak of “celebriosis,” a fictional condition caused by celebrating too much.
The TikTok user @yerik.jomei pointed out that in just one week, South Africa had seen major sporting triumphs across codes, such as the women's Boks advancing in the Rugby World Cup, Orlando Pirates thrashing their opponents 3-0, the Proteas securing back-to-back wins against England, and Bafana Bafana claiming a 3-0 victory in their World Cup qualifier.
“Hospitals have been flooded with cases of celebriosis,” he joked, concluding that the Springboks sacrificed themselves to give the nation a break from constant celebrations.
Finally, @yerik.jomei brought in the concept of Ubuntu as his third point, saying that the Springboks were showing compassion. He reminded viewers that the All Blacks were still grieving their 2023 Rugby World Cup final defeat against South Africa.
“Because the Springboks are a caring team, they recognised the sadness in the All Black players and decided to give them happiness,” he added.
The fan’s creative explanation quickly won over viewers across Mzansi online who praised his humour and wit. Many admitted that his video softened the sting of the defeat, proving that South Africans always find laughter even in the toughest sporting moments.
