Why designer sunglasses cost so much

According to Frames Direct, Ray-Bans command a premium price because of their craftsmanship, heritage, and quality materials. Retailing between R2,500 and R8,500, they’re considered a luxury purchase.

The brand’s legacy dates back to the 1930s when it designed the Aviator for army pilots. Today, Ray-Bans are made with titanium alloy and high-grade acetate, offering durability, comfort, and hypoallergenic properties. Combined with 100% UV protection and a timeless style, these features reinforce the brand’s reputation and justify the higher price tag.

Content creator @arianna_dalessio stumbled upon this rare opportunity to access luxury eyewear at a fraction of the cost.
