Comedian John Koopman put aside all jokes and showed generosity when he let a Wellington ouma participate in what he called a Tiny Trolley Dash at Shoprite. Several social media users felt John was doing the Lord's work and praised him for opening his wallet and heart.

On 14 November, 2025, John uploaded a video on Facebook showing the dash. He told the woman, who was to use a trolley with two baskets:

"You have 30 seconds to get anything in the shop."

When the timer started, the woman slowly added coffee to her basket, possibly tea, and headed to the end of the aisle to grab a selection of meat, with the help of other customers. John also reminded the woman to grab sugar.

In his caption, the media personality wrote:

"This one had me in tears."

The total cost of the groceries came to R462.14.

Trolley dash receives praise

Several members of the online community applauded John for his generosity, though many wished he had given the woman more time to shop.
