A video filmed outside Cosmo City Secondary School on 14 August 2026 captured a heated confrontation between a camera crew and a group of men believed to be associated with the school's principal, after the principal allegedly refused to allow a learner back into school following initiation.

The footage, posted by TikTok user @amaweleamahle, shows the crew filming on the paved sidewalk near the school when men moved in to physically obstruct the camera. Voices in the video can be heard demanding to know why the camera was being blocked, with one person stating they were not inside the school grounds and had intended to request permission before proceeding.

At the centre of the dispute is a learner who had been away for initiation and was reportedly denied re-entry by the school principal. An isiZulu caption overlaid on the video referenced the principal's refusal to allow the child back.

The person behind the camera repeatedly called out the principal's behaviour, saying on camera:

"The very same principal is blocking the camera, guys. They are blocking the cameras to do the work."
