A Johannesburg content creator just found the sweetest excuse to skip adult responsibilities for an afternoon, and South Africans are ready to follow.
@secretjoburg shared a reel on 18 August 2026 from Ice Cream Co. in Randburg, showing off an experience that is less about eating ice cream and more about making it yourself, from start to finish.
Inside the Ice Cream Co. workshop
Guests begin by suiting up and decorating their own bucket before choosing a base flavour. Creator Zoe went with vanilla and then loaded it with caramel crunch, caramel chips, Oreos, and chocolate sauce. Once all the mix-ins are chosen, everything gets blended on the spot. The finished product is packaged up and taken home, which is the part that seems to have caught everyone's attention.

The experience at 187 Arbeid Avenue, Strydompark, is designed for small groups of two to four people and costs R375 per person. Bookings are essential. The venue is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 3:30pm and Saturdays from 8am to 1pm. Beyond the workshop, there are milkshakes, ice cream treats, and a small outdoor play area for when the sugar rush kicks in.
Zoe described it as a great option for a date, a girls' day out, or simply something different to do on a Tuesday afternoon. Ice Cream Co. itself responded to the post, writing:
"Love this! Thanks for sharing."
