David Coluzzi, a Sydney-based content creator, posted a video on Instagram trying South African food he stumbled upon while browsing Facebook Marketplace. The clip quickly caught the attention of South Africans online, many of whom were thrilled to see their beloved snacks showing up on the other side of the world.

The food came from Sinalo, a South African man living in Sydney who runs a small food business called Ora’s Skaftin. Sinalo said the whole thing started simply because he was missing home. He began cooking the food he grew up eating in South Africa for his friends, and the response was so overwhelmingly good that he decided to turn it into a business.
