A South African home cook has Mzansi reaching for pots and silicone moulds. Sweetness Londeka Ndima posted a jelly gummies tutorial on Facebook on 6 October 2026, and it quickly had people talking.
The video, filmed in a home kitchen, walks viewers through a surprisingly simple process. Ndima combines brown sugar and hot water, dissolves gelatin into the mixture, then stirs in food colouring before pouring everything into silicone moulds. After a spell in the fridge, the moulds come out to reveal bright, wobbly sweets that she clearly could not wait to taste.
Homemade sweets spark big reactions
What made the video so engaging was how accessible it felt. No fancy equipment, no hard-to-find ingredients, just pantry staples and a bit of patience. The end result looked like something straight off a shop shelf, and viewers were quick to share their thoughts.
