A South African woman shared a distressing account of her brand-new Volvo bursting into flames just weeks after she drove it off the lot. TikTok user @llywelyn_pakade posted the video on 9 October, and it quickly gained traction for all the wrong reasons.

She purchased the Volvo XC60 B5 on 29 April as a birthday gift to herself. Three weeks later, she was standing on the side of the road watching it burn to the ground, completely helpless. She said:

"Imagine watching your car burn only three weeks after you purchased it. I watched it burn to the ground while I stood on the side of the road, helpless, not knowing what to do."

The video by @llywelyn_pakade overlaid footage of the charred wreckage alongside a screenshot of a one-star Google review she had left for the dealership. Five months after the incident, the car remained in the same burnt-out state, with no resolution in sight. She addressed the dealership directly in her post, demanding they take responsibility. "It's been five months, and I need Volvo Menlyn to take responsibility," she said, tagging the branch with the caption demanding that the dealership pay up. Watch the video on TikTok below:
