A mother left social media users entertained after sharing a funny conversation with her son about his cultural identity.

The clip, shared by TikTok user @bongiwedamane, garnered massive views, likes, and comments from amused viewers.

The video starts with the mother telling her son that he should speak isiZulu because that is his language. The boy, however, insists that he is Xhosa, pronouncing the tribe with a cute accent that starts with a 'Q,' instead of an 'X'.

The boy changes from being Zulu to Xhosa

Amused, the mom tries to correct him and reminds him that he is Zulu, but the boy refuses to listen to what she is saying, telling her that his friend Hlomla told him to speak Xhosa at school and Zulu at home. The mom then switches to speak isiZulu, trying to convince her son that he is Zulu, but the boy does not back off.

He tells her that Hlomla said he, Randzu, Dienga, and others must speak Xhosa, and that they were. After the mom persistently calls him Zulu, the boy tells her that he is Xhosa every day and not Zulu, leaving his mom in stitches. In the comments section, his mom explained that Hlomla had apparently convinced the whole class that they were Xhosas.

Others jokingly told the mom to let him be whatever tribe he wanted to be
