A digital creator known as @tanvimakesvideos broke down on camera from her home on 7 September 2026, marking 10 days since her parents disappeared following the devastating Nepal floods.
Tanvi, who has 84,200 followers on Instagram, filmed the tearful video on what was meant to be a reunion day. Her parents had been on a Kailash Yatra pilgrimage and were due to return on 6 September. They have not come home.
"It's getting delusional to still hope," she said in the video, visibly fighting back tears.
She described visiting the police station multiple times, submitting to DNA fingerprinting and quietly dreading that her sample might match one of the recovered bodies.

Nepal floods leave thousands missing
The disaster that took her parents struck on 26 August 2026, when a glacier collapse high in the Himalayas sent a torrent of ice, rock and water hurtling downstream at speeds of up to 120 mph. The wall of water tore through Nepal's northern districts, destroying roads, bridges and villages. More than 1,350 people were killed, and over 5,500 remain missing. The Rasuwagadhi border crossing and the Friendship Bridge between Nepal and China were completely destroyed.
Nepal observed a national day of mourning on 7 September 2026, the same day Tanvi posted her video.
What made the video hit so hard was how deeply personal it was. Tanvi mentioned using her mother's eyeliner that morning because her mother always told her putting on make-up would help when she was sad. Standing at her mother's dressing table, she said, gave her a brief moment of closeness.
She spoke openly about the weight of suddenly facing adult responsibilities alone. Her father had promised to teach her about investments and finance when he returned. Now she is learning it all on her own.
"I can't just sit and cry, I can't just sit and be sad, because I have responsibilities," she said, her voice cracking. "I have to make them proud."
