WESTERN CAPE — The Democratic Alliance (DA) spokesperson Willie Aucamp said that the party was prepared to work with the African National Congress (ANC) in improving its service delivery.

According to TimesLIVE, Aucamp spoke in an interview with SABC News. This was after President Cyril Ramaphosa recently said that the DA has areas of service delivery that the ANC could learn from. Ramaphosa said that ANC councillors should not be afraid of learning from how DA-run municipalities are doing things differently.

DA willing to work with ANC

Aucamp said that the DA is here to serve South Africa. He added that if the party can make any meaningful contribution where the ANC governs, it will not hesitate. Aucamp remarked that the party would join forces with anyone willing to improve service delivery in the country.

Aucamp compares municipalities

Auamp also made a comparison between the Midvaal and Emfuleni municipalities, two municipalities that are located in Sedibeng next to each other. He said that the Midvaal municipality shows the DA's political will to provide service delivery. This is in stark comparison to the Emfuleni Municipality, which is regarded as one of the worst municipalities in the country.
