The clip, which has been widely spread on social media, shows the mother questioning her daughter as the teenager prepares to leave for school without the baby's bag.

Some viewers familiar with those involved have suggested the video is a skit designed to highlight the realities of teen pregnancy, though the footage has nonetheless reignited a heated national conversation on the subject.

In the clip, the mother confronts her daughter about leaving without the infant's essentials, asking what the baby would eat during the school day.

"Are you already going to school? How can you go to school without the baby's bag? What will the child eat?" she says.

The teenager appeals to her mother to care for the baby for the day, warning that the infant would cry and disrupt lessons.

The mother refuses, telling her daughter to go to school with the baby, saying that she should hand the child to the father, who was in the same class, if she could not manage.
