Orlando Pirates failed to capitalise on a chance to close the gap at the top of the Betway Premiership standings after being held to a 1-1 draw by AmaZulu FC at Kings Park Stadium on Wednesday night.
The result left the Buccaneers unable to match league leaders Kaizer Chiefs on points, a missed opportunity that head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou addressed bluntly in his post-match interview with SuperSport TV.

Ouaddou was candid in his review of the match, singling out the opening 45 minutes as deeply concerning while acknowledging the improvement that followed.
"The first half was really a disaster," he said. "If I take into consideration where we had more interest in the last third, more play forward, more combination and more interest in the last third of course we deserved to win that game."
The coach was also quick to credit AmaZulu, describing them as a formidable opponent. "I don't think too many teams are coming to win here. AmaZulu is really a strong team. They have some good players. I think the coach is a very good coach — one of the best coaches in this PSL."
**Pirates Players Put on Notice**
Despite his praise for the opposition, Ouaddou directed his sharpest remarks at members of his own squad, drawing a clear distinction between those who had earned their place and those who needed to step up.
He acknowledged the contributions of Sibisi and Chaine, both of whom have featured consistently since returning from World Cup duties, but made clear that others were not meeting the required standard.
"The other ones really need to wake up because me I don't have time because now it's an emergency," Ouaddou said.
The Pirates coach framed the moment as critical, suggesting that patience had run out and that the squad must respond immediately if the club is to remain competitive in the title race.
