The 2024/25 season may have just begun, but many teams and players are already setting their sights on their goals and ambitions.
FC Barcelona had a 2023/24 campaign to forget, finishing not only behind their arch-rivals Real Madrid but also barely edging out the surprise package Girona in the La Liga standings.
However, following this disappointing season, which ended with the dismissal of manager, Xavi Hernandez, Barcelona's star forward, Robert Lewandowski, has issued a subtle warning to Real Madrid, hinting at what they can expect from Barcelona this campaign.
Lewandowski sends warning to Real Madrid
Speaking in an interview upon his side's arrival in the United States of America for the commencement of their pre-season tour, the Polish striker, as captured by Barca Universal, stated that the Catalan outfit head into the season with renewed motivation.

"Real Madrid? What happened last year is a great motivation for us. We are Barcelona, and we need to take a step forward," Lewandowski said.
"Barça always aims to win, and the players always have titles in mind. But right now, we are focused on preparing well for the season."
The 35-year-old also stressed he looks to score more goals than he recorded last season.
According to data courtesy of Fotmob, Lewandowski scored fewer goals in his second season with Barcelona than he did in his maiden campaign.
Lewandowski and Barcelona will lock horns with Real Madrid for the first time this season on October 27.
Lewandowski amongst players set to exit Barcelona
Briefly News in another report detailed that Lewandowski is among the players who might leave Barcelona this summer. The ex-Bayern Munich striker is one of the top earners on the La Liga team's current squad.
The Polish forward joined Barcelona in the summer of 2022 for an estimated fee of over €45 million.
