Erik ten Hag Defiant Despite Heavy Manchester United Defeat to Liverpool
- Erik ten Hag had a surprise reaction to Manchester United's loss to Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday evening
- Mohamed Salah had a hand in all three goals as Arne Slot's brilliant start to life in England continued
- Ten Hag reiterated that there were positive things but insisted they needed to improve and work on their mistakes
Erik ten Hag has remained adamant that Manchester United are on the right path despite a heavy defeat to Liverpool in a Premier League clash on September 1.
Liverpool visited Old Trafford with the relatively new manager, Arne Slot, and thumped three goals past a hapless Manchester United side.
Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah ran the show, with the former bagging a brace to put the Red Devils to the sword in ruthless fashion.
The result is set to ramp up pressure on ten Hag, who has now won just one game in the opening three of the new 2024/2025 season.

However, speaking after the game, ten Hag insisted that the performance wasn't that bad, backing his team to improve as the season goes on. The Dutch manager said there was some improvement from last year.
"I don't think it’s right to say it feels the same as last year. You can see the xG we didn't concede as many goals. I don't think we are in the same pattern," he said.
"I am not Harry Potter. Players like Manuel Ugarte need time to build their fitness, and this will take weeks," he said, as quoted by Beanyman Sports.
Ten Hag will now use the international window to rethink his strategies ahead of their game against Southampton when Premier League football resumes.
Ten Hag Respond to Casemiro leaving claims
At the same time, Briefly News has reported that Erik ten Hag has responded to claims that Casemiro left Old Trafford at halftime following his brutal withdrawal on September 1.
Casemiro endured one of the worst days in his professional career, with an error-strewn performance within the first 45 minutes. The Brazilian started from the get-go alongside Kobbie Mainoo when Manchester United hosted Liverpool for the third round of action of the new Premier League season.
