Denmark internationals Jannik Vestergaard and Victor Kristiansen were among those present, and they made it clear they were missing Maresca, who helped them win promotion back to the Premier League last season.
In a video shared online, they held a sign that read "Enzo, I miss you" and sang along to Kanye West's "All of the Lights."
The message was a clear dig at Cooper, who reportedly clashed with several players, according to The Mirror. His dismissal comes after 12 matches where he registered just two wins and sat 16th in the Premier League.
Former Premier League managers Graham Potter and David Moyes have been linked to the job.
