Orlando Pirates defender Moses Mphekgoane has moved to Motsepe Foundation Championship club Hope FC on a season-long loan, with the Cape Town-based side confirming the signing.

The 21-year-old departs the Buccaneers after a standout campaign with the club's reserve outfit. As captain, Mphekgoane guided Pirates' junior side to their first DStv Diski Challenge championship in 11 years, establishing himself as one of the more promising young defenders in the system.

Hope FC Back Mphekgoane to Develop

Hope FC, known as The Immortals, wasted little time in welcoming the young centre-back to Cape Town following the conclusion of the loan agreement, which had previously been reported by iDiski Times.

In a statement confirming the deal, the club expressed confidence in what the defender could offer during his time at the club.

The signing was announced as Hope FC began their Motsepe Foundation Championship season on a positive note, claiming a 1-0 victory over AmaTuks. The result came on the same day the club confirmed Clayton Daniels as their new head coach.

For Mphekgoane, the loan move offers a clear pathway to regular first-team football at a competitive level, something that can be difficult to secure at a club the size of Orlando Pirates.
