TS Galaxy president Tim Sukazi has gone on record to confirm that Kaizer Chiefs made a formal approach for rising star Seluleko Mahlambi, only for negotiations to collapse over a significant gap in valuation.
Speaking on SNAWA, Sukazi revealed that Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jr brought an offer of approximately R4 million to the table for the 22-year-old attacker.

The Galaxy supremo was unambiguous about his response to the proposal, insisting it fell far short of what the youngster is worth.
"Mahlambi, big talent, there has never been an offer in monetary terms outside Kaizer Chiefs," Sukazi said. "Kaizer Junior tabled a R4 million offer, and I thought, really, it was not good enough in my view for a player like that. Seluleko, at least, he should be on those ten and above million, at least, you know he is young, it has to..."

Mahlambi only stepped up from TS Galaxy's DStv Diski Challenge side in July 2025, yet his performances throughout the season were enough to attract attention from several of the country's biggest clubs. In addition to Chiefs, his name was linked to both Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates during the transfer window, though none of those pursuits resulted in a completed move.
**Both Clubs Refused to Compromise**
Sukazi confirmed that Chiefs held their position and declined to revise the offer upward, leaving the two sides at an impasse.
"Kaizer was not prepared to budge, four million was the number, he stood his ground and we stood our ground," he explained.
The Galaxy president also took the opportunity to highlight the club's transfer philosophy, noting that TS Galaxy does not rely on player-exchange arrangements to fund its recruitment activity.
"Not that we needed any players, by the way. All the deals that we do, we do not involve swap deals if you can check," Sukazi added.
Mahlambi remains at Rockets heading into the new season, with Sukazi's public comments suggesting the club has no intention of selling him below a figure north of R10 million.
