Rugby has a way of doing things to South Africans that nothing else can. A short clip posted on 1 September 2026 proved exactly that, showing a group of people forming a full rugby scrum right in the middle of a petrol station forecourt, at night, on the cement.

X user @Magatsheni90722, who goes by The Non Biased One, shared the video with the caption:
"South Africans are stupidly crazy, and you can't convince me otherwise."
The timing was no coincidence. South Africa's Greatest Rivalry series against New Zealand had the country gripped, with the Springboks and the All Blacks locked at one win apiece. Rugby fever in Mzansi was at an all-time high, and it spilt right onto the forecourt.

What made the moment even more special was that the people involved reportedly did not know each other. @MotsatsiRo pointed out in the replies:

Someone in the group was busy calling others on the phone instead of adding their weight to the push, which one commenter, @Titusson_Zealot, noticed straight away:
