- Many were amused by the musicians taking the gig while others were happy that they at least made money from it

Amapiano duo MFR Souls found themselves on the receiving end of a drag by Mzansi social media users. This comes after they performed at a Democratic Alliance rally recently.

The #TimeForChange rally was a virtual event that was broadcast across the country.

Social media users were not impressed by the musicians performing at the event.

Meanwhile, Briefly News previously reported that talented Amapiano music producer Kabza De Small has bagged a total of six nominations at the 27th edition of the South African Music Awards.

The star has been nominated in the Album of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, and Best Amapiano Album categories for his album I Am the King of Amapiano: Sweet & Dust. His collaboration with DJ Maphorisa titled Once Upon A Time in Lockdown scored the Duo/Group of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Amapiano album nods.

KwaZulu-Natal-born DJ and musician Sun-EL Musician also got the recognition he deserved after he dropped a dope 31-track album last year titled To The World and Beyond.

Sun-EL received five nominations. The star bagged the Male Artist of the Year, Best Dance, Best Live Audio Visual of the Year, Best Produced Album of the Year and Remix of the Year categories.

In other music news, Briefly News reported that Kabza De Small is back in the studio fusing new sounds with Amapiano. The music producer is working on a track that mixes Maskandi with Amapiano.

A video of the artist in studio jamming to a new song where he merged Maskandi with Amapiano is doing the rounds on social media. Kabza can be seen bopping his head to the track while a friend hypes him up.
