- Minister Gwede Mantashe has just got his coronavirus vaccine, taking to social media to share the quick procedure
- He's encouraging others to follow suit and get vaccinated
- Mzansi took to the comments section, cheekily responding to the ministers call to arms
South Africa's Minister of Resources Gwede Mantashe has just received his coronavirus vaccine and is encouraging Mzansi to do the same. He took to his Twitter account to share a short clip of the painless procedure.
"I have been vaccinated. We encourage people to get vaccinated to save lives & protect livelihoods #WeChooseVaccination" he captioned the post.
It was definitely a busy day at the East Rand Mall, with many people gathered to receive their jabs too. The Minister seemed a little camera shy as the administering nurse pulled down his sleeve and finally vaccinated him.
While some social media commended the Minister for being so responsible with his health, others took the golden opportunity to throw a few jabs his way. Check out some of their comments below:
"Hahahahahaha you need a jab against corruption rather"
"We encourage you to stay at home tiger"
"How's that vaccine rollout going for us ordinary peasants?"
"We don't care"
"You look tired chair"
Meanwhile, Briefly News previously reported that a local man has turned some heads on social media with his hilarious comments. He threw some serious shade at Archbishop Magkoba on vaccination day.
Taking to his Twitter account, @kay_mahapa posted some iconic pics of the Bishops looking ever so stylish in their purple robes. They were definitely dripping in some godly swagger while getting their vaccinations.
Mahapa definitely noticed and couldn't help adding his own hilarious comments, suggesting Archbishop Tutu might be selling the fashionable purple robes.
"Desmond Tutu selling merch now?" he captioned the silly little post.
Mzansi social media users were left rolling on the floor and took to the comments section to share their thoughts:
@thuto_xclsv hilariously wrote:
"Bare Tutu o pusha cargo!"
"Oh my gosh, I hate that I’m laughing"
"Eh monna "
"No you didn't"
