- Mzansi rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes has found himself embroiled in controversy once again
- The Fela In Versace rapper shared a snap of himself along with an eyebrow-raising song selection
- The controversial song he chose caused outrage among Mzansi social media users
AKA seems to have found a unique way to grieve the death of his fiancée Nelli Tembe. The rapper recently took to social media to post a snap of himself standing outside, smoking a cigarette.
While the picture itself was not out of the ordinary, it was his choice of song that left many social media users in disbelief. AKA chose to play ‘Piss on your grave’ by Travis Scott.
Many were disturbed by the fact that the song seemed to be alluding to the death of the late Tembe and felt that it was in poor taste. AKA did not specify why he chose that particular song but it did not stop the masses from assuming the worst.

The lyrics of the song include:
“I use your face as a urinal. Then do the same at your funeral. Piss on your grave, piss on your grave.”
What’s going on, Kiernan?
Here are some reactions from outraged social media users:
“The song selection.”
“Vile human being.”
“Last time I checked this song is about pissing on the graves of unscrupulous record label execs. Kiernan has been a victim of such ppl for most of his career. What’s the furore about?”
“Every time you think it’s the bottom the bottom keeps on getting lower.”
“This is low, even for him.”
“Saw this and was extremely disturbed. He doesn’t care does he?”
AKA denies being an abusive partner
Meanwhile Briefly News previously reported that AKA has, through his lawyers, released a statement to reassure his fans that he is not an abuser as depicted from some leaked videos. Speaking to TshisaLive, AKA’s lawyer, Rudolph Baloyi, senior associate at Mabuza Attorneys, said he wanted to stop the speculation that AKA is abusive.
According to the publication, the lawyer said that Mr Forbes takes the current events playing out very seriously.
“It is regrettable that he and his brand are now associated with GBV. However, he assures his fans and the public that he is not a perpetrator of GBV.”
