Meet Sithembile Mbete, the UP lecturer who graduated with a PhD

Sithembile Mbete took to social media to gush about graduation day on Wednesday- and the University of Pretoria graduate could not be prouder.

It's not just students who graduate from university, lecturers also pursue additional degrees to further their careers.

On Wednesday, Mbete, who is a lecturer at the Department of Political Sciences at the University of Pretoria where she teaches International Relations, graduated with her PhD, Briefly.co.za learned.

"Yaaaaaaayyyyy!!!! It's graduation day!!!" she captioned a photo of herself in graduation attire.

Soon after she posted the pic, social media users showered the lecturer and political analyst with congratulation messages.

Khungeka Njobe, who goes by the Twitter handle @zukolwam, wrote: "Congratulations again Sthe, best wishes as the career gets stronger and stronger. Your daddy must proud."

Shuvai Busuman, @ShuvaiBusuman, commented: "Halala halala halala #Mbokodo! Huge Congratulations special lady! Celebrating and dancing with you on this exciting day! Well done o'!"
