This is the inspiring story of Bulie Nazo, who overcame numerous hurdles to eventually own the company she once worked for.
Bulie hails from East London, Eastern Cape, Briefly.co.za learned. She dropped out of university twice because of lack of funding, destinyconnect.com reports.
She tried several avenues, including auditioning for a TV presenter role, to no success. She even slept on friends' couches while looking for a job.

However, Bulie never gave up and eventually landed a job as a junior digital marketer at Electromode, which is now a music distribution company.
She recalled how she had to scrape together taxi fare to get to the interview. When she landed the job, she gave it her all.

A memorable milestone for Bulie was being part of a team that managed US rapper Drake's visit to South Africa.
Bulie earned promotions and became senior digital manager for STAMP Communications, a division of Electromode. However, she yearned to start her own business and decided to resign.

To Bulie's surprise, her boss Chris Ghelakis instead asked her to take over the company as the majority shareholder. She explained:
We met with auditors who valued the company. I didn’t have any startup capital, so Chris fronted the money for me and we agreed on terms which would allow me to buy Stamp from him.
Although Bulie had to adjust to being her own boss, she is delighted:
I’m doing things my own way and enjoying the journey. But this is just the start – I’ve got an empire to build!
