Mzansi's Queen B graced the audience at the UN Women's Summit in Mumbai, India in a quest to liberate young girls. And damn, she pulled it off with such class.
Bonang was joined by Richa Chadha, Amina Khalil among others at the UN Gender Equality Summit in a panel to discuss obstacles holding young women back, as well as the way media, brands and other influencers can play in creating a gender equal world for the next generation.
Bonang's topic was to liberate young girls and make education more accessible.
She wrote: "About to speak at the UN Women Summit in Mumbai, India in 2019, I continue my quest to liberate young girls, making education more accessible for ALL! Thank you @ProcterGamble @always_sa for always supporting me & the Bonang Matheba Bursury Fund.... #WeSeeEqual"
She posted the same picture and caption on her Twitter account, which was flooded with comments and reactions. Four hours after she posted her tweet, she received 4.4k likes, 422 retweets and 99 comments.
Most of her tweeps commended her for taking up this project, speaking up for girls worldwide as well as SA, and for making a difference while others praised her for her absolute classy attire at the summit. Here are some of the comments from her Twitter account.
Here is a snippet of Bonang speaking at the Summit:
Yesterday, Briefly.co.za reported about Mzansi having more than a dozen nicknames for Bonang Matheba, and it was hilarious.
Bonang Matheba is one of the biggest female stars in Mzansi, and she is adored by millions. It's only natural that her followers give her special (and hilarious) nicknames to show their love and connection to her.
There are the glamorous names that we know Bonang likes such as Queen B and Mo'ghel. However, fans are less fancy with the names they choose to call her.
