Photos of female SAPS officer undressing leaked, investigation underway

- The policewoman in the pictures has since attempted suicide in desperation

A female South African Police Service (SAPS) officer is devastated after photos of her undressing were shared online recently.

According to the Daily Sun, the pictures were allegedly taken in the woman’s boyfriend’s home.

It appears that the photos were both taken and distributed online without her consent, Briefly.co.za discovered.

The unfortunate incident caused the devastated officer to attempt suicide by poisoning, days after the pictures went viral.

A local cop commented that the person who shared the pictures should be ashamed for dragging the name of the SAPS through the dirt, as well as potentially destroying the woman's relationship with her family.

National Police spokesperson, Brigadier Vishnu Naidoo, addressed the public about the incident:

“We have identified this member and a senior officer has been tasked to investigate this matter. In the meantime, we cannot say exactly who distributed these photographs. We would like to reassure the nation that we are viewing this matter in a very serious [light]. The investigation is still in its early stages. No further details can be disclosed.”
