The KFC Couple has thanked South Africans for making the most anticipated wedding of the season possible.

However, bride Nonhlanhla Soldaat has revealed that the ceremony itself was only for close friends and family.

Briefly.co.za reported that the pair had chosen to hold their wedding on the last day of the year after social media had brought massive attention to the moment.

While Mzansi was to thank for the extravagant event the whole thing turned out to be, with multiple sponsors jumping on board, peeps will have to make do with watching it on TV.

Nonhlanhla admitted that the attention has her feeling anxious over the big day, and said that she would have liked to host it in a venue that could fit the whole country.

A video of groom Hector Mkansi proposing in the modest setting of a KFC outlet had touched the hearts of citizens and soon enough the pair were being showered with sponsorships.

They even appeared in a KFC advert, with the brand seizing the opportunity to take over the reins in planning the union.
