South Africa warns that US-Iran war threatens international peace

South Africa is trying to play the role of peacemaker as tensions between the US and Iran threaten to boil over and result in war between the two countries.

Briefly.co.za learned that the real victims of the conflict will be the effect of the region and international peace. South Africa is pleading that the two sides keep calm.

Economists have warned that a conflict in the Middle East would jeopardise oil supplies to the 4world and send oil prices skyrocketing.

Siphamandla Zondi, a political analyst, has said that the US has never chosen negotiation as their first choice when dealing with conflicts in the Middle East and that the US is looking for a big 'win' in order to re-establish themselves as a global superpower according to enca.com.

Zondi agrees with the United Nations suggestions that a peaceful political solution would be in the best interests of the people of Iran and Iraq.
