Mzansi singer Thandiswa Mazwai has opened up about her later mother, Belede Mazwai.

The Bongo Maffin star took to social media and penned a beautiful post about how her mother passed away when she was only 16.

Belede was only 33 years old when she took her last breath. King Tha, as Thandiswa is affectionately known by her fans, says she has some memories of her mother even though she died when she was still young.

"My mother died on this day when I was 16. I have no pictures with her. I have some memories of her. She was only 33. A true rebel soul! Belede Camagwini Mazwai (née Vabaza) my mother, my home!"

The Nizalwa Ngobani hitmaker's fans and a couple of people who knew Belede also commented on her moving post.
