Rikhoto was born on 1 January 1980 Soweto in South Africa. He is 40 years.
Education
The family relocated from Soweto to Bolubedu, located next to Tzaneen, Limpopo. While there, Rikhoto enrolled at Matshwi Primary School in Bolubedu and later joined Mokope Senior Secondary for his high school education. He performed exemplary, and that enabled him to join Technikon Pretoria, which is now the Tshwane University of Technology, where he pursued a diploma in Journalism.
Broadcasting career
In 2000, he was through with college education, and he was lucky to land a job at Munghana Lonene Fm as a stand-in-presenter where he was tasked with weekend shifts. His breakthrough came when he presented the African World Music Show Mindhzumba ya Africa. He presented it very well that he made a name for himself and became a celebrity. In 2003, he started presenting the afternoon drive show while swapping days with Conny Mshimbye where he worked tirelessly, and in 2005, he was rewarded with a breakfast show that he maintained until 2007.
In 2008, he started co-hosting Phaphama, a breakfast show, with his co-host Sydney Baloyi. The duo worked together until 2009 when Tebogo Jacko Magubane joined them, who came as the show's director. The move brought a positive response prompting the management to move Giyani to the Afternoon Drive where he was paired with Thembzana and Nyiko Sithole as the sports presenter.

At only 23 years, he garnered an award as the Best Presenter of the year at the station. This is despite him presenting only two-weekend programmes.
He was the first person at the station to play artists such as Kanda Bongo Man from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Salala from Madagascar, Fally Ipupa, Koffi Olomide, Papa Wemba, among other international artists. His diverse and unique choice of music, mostly the new blend of African music from SADC countries, has made the station to gain popularity and huge listeners and followers.

In 2014, he made a mark when he featured the Tsalanang-Inspector Mkhaba with his smash hit, Bafikile. This hit single was later compiled on DJ Cleo's Eskhaleni 9. His music video was played on local and national TV stations in RSA and in other neighbouring countries in Africa.
Giyani has also released three albums under his name, and he told his fans that more are underway.

He occasionally made remarks about the team during his show time on Phaphama, and he sometimes engaged in soccer debates with his co-host Sydney Baloyi, who is, on the contrary, a die-hard fan of the rival Orlando Pirates. This usually brought a heated discussion with each trying to support their team.
Giyani was arrested on 9 February 2007, and later the case was thrown out of court due to lack of evidence. It was later understood that there was nothing that linked him to the situation.
He also owns Bharule Communications, a multi-media communications company, and DJ Brian Concepts, a communications company that drives Giyani the brand.
