Musician Vhudi has explained the meaning of his song titled My Yoki Yoki. The 20-year-old man has been trending on social media ever since he performed the song on popular Mzansi singing competition, Idols SA.
When he auditioned in Johannesburg, the show's judges Somizi Mhlongo, Randall Abrahams, Unathi Nkanyi and guest judge Buhle Mda sang along to the musician's song.
The rising star has revealed that he was trying to impress a girl when he wrote the number. Instead of impressing the girl, Vhudi impressed thousands of the show's viewers.
Briefly.co.za reported that even though many did not even understand the lyrics of the track, his talent was enough to impress.
The young man from Limpopo has explained the true meaning of the song to SowetanLIVE.
"I was trying to impress someone when I wrote the song. I didn’t get the girl, but she was very excited about the song. Yes, My Yoki Yoki is shortened from 'My Yonkinto’. It just came up as I was writing the song."
