AKA was recently awarded new plaques for six singles and two albums. The award-winning rapper remains one of Mzansi's all-time selling hip-hop selling act with an excess of 100 times platinum selling singles.
Supa Mega was awarded the plaques at a recently held #VthVibrations dinner in Illovo, Johannesburg. The Fela in Versace hitmaker's sales milestones now include a gold selling status for his new single Energy, 3 times platinum selling status for his Touch My Blood album, 10 times platinum selling status for his Levels album 53 times platinum (5 x diamond) selling status for his single titled Dreamwork and 19 times platinum selling status for his epic single titled All Eyes On Me, among others.
Raphael Benza of Vth Season said in a statement:
"AKA is a true hitmaker and has shattered all sales records for SA Hip Hop. Most notably, achieving this status as an English speaker rapper, whom many deemed had no room for success in the South African music landscape. Ten years in the making, the numbers don’t lie, AKA is South Africa’s greatest selling Hip Hop act."
