1. Ambitious lady shoots shot at Sjava, muso responds
An ambitious Mzansi lady took her chances and tried her luck with Sjava. She said that she desperately wanted to be with him and would delete her Twitter account if he didn’t give her a chance.
Some social media users were amused by her ultimatum while some encouraged her to go get her man.
It seems the dramatic tactic worked as Sjava noticed her tweet and responded by simply saying “Ihaba”, which means "Exaggeration".
2. 'Isibaya' comes to an end after being on air for almost 8 years
One of Mzansi's most loved telenovelas, Isibaya has come to an end. The show airs on Mzansi Magic every weekday at 20:30 but now the curtains have closed for the popular soapie.
Isibaya is set to be replaced by a new production called Diepsloot. According to a report by the Daily Sun, Isibaya was canned after the show failed to pull in the ratings that it did before. The show did not make the top 10 enough times to be renewed.
According to a source: "The show is definitely going off-air soon as it's the last season. The cast and crew were informed last year that the show is being scrapped over poor ratings."
3. "I am who I am today because of you": SA man thanks mom with new car
A local man has thanked his mom in an amazing way for all the things she sacrificed to raise him. Taking to Facebook, the young man, Busisani Mhlambi, shared a lengthy and heartfelt post as well pictures of his old lady standing by her brand-new set of wheels.
"You worked as a cleaner earning R1 200 a month but still managed to put food on the table. You would pick up food in the dustbins of OR Tambo and bring it home for us to eat. You would go sell sweets at a school to put food on the table.
"Sometimes you would come home having sold only R5 worth of sweets and I'd be so excited knowing we'd be able to buy bread that day. It is, for this reason, I always buy from people selling stuff in the streets and on traffic lights even when I don't need the things they sell because I know what that means to them.
"I am what I am today all because of you, and owe all my successes to you. I could write a whole book on the sacrifices you made for us. You sacrificed yourself, literally for me to be where I am today."
4. Anele’s son starts Grade 1, Mzansi can’t handle the cuteness
TV and radio personality Anele Mdoda’s son is all grown up. The young boy is starting Grade 1 and the proud mommy took to social media to share pictures of her son’s first day.
He looked super excited to start his school journey and had a huge smile on this face.
Social media users could not get over how quickly he has grown. Time really does fly.
5. Pearl Thusi blasts troll for shading her younger sister Prunella Thusi
Pearl Thusi has blasted a troll who came for her younger sister on social media. The media personality took to Twitter on Thursday, 14 January and told the troll where to get off after he posted negative comments about her sister.
In a now-deleted tweet, the hater shared a snap of the gorgeous Prunella Sanelisiwe Thusi and suggested that her beauty is not enough to build a family with. The tweep @TMakhulu wrote:
"You can never build a home with this kind of woman."
