The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation has slammed former president Jacob Zuma for his defiance of the Zondo commission and Constitutional Court.
In a statement, the executive director of the foundation, Neeshan Balton, said that Zuma’s recent behaviour shows that the politician is not interested in law and order.
Balton went on to say that the former president should be given no preferential treatment.
Police Minister Bheki Cele met with Jacob Zuma on Thursday. The meeting, which lasted 3 hours, came at a time of rising tensions between Zuma and Raymond Zondo.
Duduzile Zuma revealed on Twitter that the meeting dealt with Zuma’s refusal to appear at the commission and the steps that would be taken, should a warrant of arrest be issued.
According to Zuma’s daughter, Cele as the head of the South African Police Service (SAPS), would have to be the official to carry out the arrest.
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za reported that Duduzile Zuma is standing beside her father Jacob Zuma come hell or high water. The young lady recently headed to Twitter to show her support for her dad in a tweet in which she shared Martin Luther King Jr excerpt quote from his "When Peace Becomes Obnoxious” speech.
In the caption of her post, she also stated that they (assumedly her father and his family) were not afraid of cowards, also adding that they are not afraid of boers and ending off the caption by saying that they are waiting and their gate is open.
Asiwasabi amagwala...asiwasabi amabhunu. Silindile, isango livuliwe... azishe. Sinawe @PresJGZuma #WeAreJacobZuma (We are not afraid of cowards ... we are not afraid of Boers. We are waiting, the gate is open ... I'm with you @PresJGZuma#WeAreJacobZuma,)" the tweet translates.
Meanwhile, locals have had this to say:
