While man singletons were left heartbroken and alone on Valentine's Day here in South Africa, a Johannesburg man was not one of them. The local bachelor won a whopping R7.4m just a few days before Valentine's Day.
Of course, this meant that even though he did not have a bae to keep him company, he did have more than a few million which we're sure was good enough company for him because it would certainly be for us.
Using his Absa banking app and a mere R80, the man chose the winning numbers, 06, 17, 27, 29, 30, 37, and bonus: 41 in the Lotto plus game in a draw that took place on the 10th of February a few weeks ago.
Dispatch Live reports that the bachelor in question has said that he will be building himself an undoubtedly beautiful home, investing some of it for the future, and also taking care of his small group of immediate family.
“I do not have a large family. My immediate family is my mother, brother and his children, and that is who I want to assist to simplify their lives”, he said.
Briefly.co.za previously reported that everyone dreams of winning the lottery and for one lucky South African man that happened on Friday when he won a whopping R60 million in the PowerBall draw.
What makes the story more interesting is that his ex-girlfriend had broken up with him shortly before the massive win. According to TimesLive the lucky man is in his 30s and works as a financial professional. He was astonished to have won, saying that the most he'd ever won before was R500.
He was spending the weekend alone as she had already moved out when he checked the PowerBall results. The shock of winning was so great that the took a cold shower and checked the results again, no willing to believe it was real.
