@CharlotteKhuma3 shared:

"Thuli Madonsela faced the same challenges as Busisiwe Mkhwebane, especially after the Nkandla report... ANC was gunning for her head! Remember Mathole Motshekga, ANCYL & ANCWL? the difference is, she stuck to the constitution and the rule of law. Not ANC factions."

@Stoute_SA tweeted:

"We urge all South Africans to stand with us in support of Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane. We owe it to ourselves, to protect our own."

Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that ANC Chairperson Gwede Mantashe spoke on the issue with Mkhwebane. Reports say there was an emergency meeting held with the ANC caucus on Tuesday, 16 March to discuss voting in favour of an inquiry into Mkhwebane.

South Africans have taken to social media to discuss both Mkhwebane and Mantashe through two separate trending tags.

Insiders have claimed that Mantashe was firm in his opinion about the vote and stated that it would not determine Mkwebane's fate, according to a report by News24.
