Phumlani Pikoli: Vusi Pikoli Finds Son, 33, Dead in Apartment

Phumlani Pikoli has died, aged 33, his father, former National Prosecuting Authority head Vusi Pikoli found his son's lifeless body on Sunday. Phumlani had been looking after his brother's apartment and taking care of the animals.

His parents became concerned after they had not heard from him since they'd last spoken on Friday.

“The gruesome discovery of Phumlani's lifeless body lying in bed is something that no parent needs to go through,” said a grieving Vusi Pikoli.

Police are investigating the death of Phumlani and at this moment the cause of death is unknown. According to the family spokesperson Twiggs Xiphu, Phumlani did not have any visible injuries on his body.

The family asked for space and time while they grieve the loss of their son. Phumlani had a successful career as an author and a journalist, publishing a number of books, Born Freeloaders being one of them.

Social media users have inundated the internet with tributes to the popular author and sent messages of condolence to his family.

Earlier, Briefly News reported that on Sunday morning, South Africa was rocked by the news of Nelli Tembe's death, who is the fiancèe of Mzansi rapper, Kiernan Forbes, better known as AKA. According to various reports, the young woman fell from the tenth floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town CBD.

Local publications reveal that witnesses remember hearing a man scream and then hearing a loud thud at around 07:45 am.

Western Cape Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk confirmed that investigations into an incident involving the 22-year-old woman's fall from the building have been opened and that crime scene experts were looking for evidence from the scene of the incident.

In other news, AKA's fiancé Nellie Tembe tragically passed away on Sunday morning and the rapper is inconsolable according to a statement released by the family. It had been reported that a young woman had passed away that morning and it was later revealed that the woman was Nellie.

The news of Nellie's untimely passing shocked social media users and AKA's fans have been sending him messages of support as he goes through a difficult time. Mzansi is incredibly heartbroken about Nellie's death.

The statement by the Tembe and Forbes family confirmed that Nellie passed away and said that she had so much life ahead of her.
