The award was given at the end of the show, which seemed befitting for a star who gave his all to film, hence closing the night.

One tweep noted that the issue was not Boseman failing to win but how the Academy used his image to boost views, switched the categories, and even made it seem like he was to win, only for them to go another route.

This was for the said movie, The Father, as the film also landed a nomination for Best Picture.

Hopkins' fellow thespian Olivia Colman also landed a nomination as a Best Supporting Actress on The Father film.

Hopkins played the role of Anthony, a charming man struggling to keep events and people as he deals with dementia in The Father film.

This was also the only major award that Hopkins won this year, even as Boseman won the Critics’ Choice Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, and Golden Globe leading many to believe that he was the outright winner for the Oscar.
