- South African rapper Kwesta has been trending on social media due to several accusations levelled against him
- The musician has decided to take to social media to address the allegations and tell his side of the story
- Kwesta admitted that he was indeed guilty of some of the things he was being accused of
Kwesta has not caught a break in recent days as Nota, Makwa and Maphorisa have called him out for the way he does business. Makwa has accused Kwesta of owing him money.
Speaking on the Sobering Podcast, Makwa said that he is owed R750k by the rapper. Since the topic trended online, Kwesta took to social media to address the allegations.
Kwesta said that he did indeed work with the aforementioned people, including someone named Leroy.
“I'm guilty of some of these things and so are Nota and Leroy.”
He went on to say:
“Many times Nota came and said funds were being mismanaged and many times, artists/producers complained about how they were represented in split sheets. My lack of action towards this is partly why we are here today.”
Kwesta denied taking money belonging to the group.
“I have NEVER taken any monies that belonged to anyone else. I have never robbed anyone of what was rightfully theirs. I left every cent I made on the road and through endorsements in these accounts.”
Kwesta explained that he only withdrew money from the accounts to pay for his wedding and house.
The rapper added that he paid Makwa in full for his work and has also been helping him to pay rent. Kwesta said he would no longer be engaging further on the matter.
Meanwhile, Briefly News previously reported that Nota Baloyi has reportedly suggested that Kwesta is broke and suffers from alcoholism. Nota and Kwesta used to be business partners a while back but now they've been taking shots at each other every time they are interviewed about their relationship.
Kwesta was recently on MacG's Podcast and Chill and shared his side of the story. The rapper claimed his former manager, Nota, thinks the rapper is his artist.
"Nota has this idea that I'm his artist like he signed me and obviously that he made me and I'm saying that because cause he has obviously been saying that."
According to a YouTube channel called Mzansi A-Listers, Nota suggested that Kwesta is broke and suffers from alcoholism after the musician's recent interview with MacG.
The opinionated Nota took to Twitter recently and shared the post by the channel. He took a jab at Kwesta. Nota wrote:
"Wow this is sad, please don’t laugh at my pain... At least he still has me to ensure he gets some royalties, I tried my best but I guess it wasn’t good enough!"
He hilariously shared that he even bought Kwesta a toaster from Smeg "hoping he won't burn his bread".
